Spartanburg, S.C : FedEx truck hits tractor-trailer, crashes down embankment in Spartanburg County on Friday, October 21, 2016

A FedEx truck crashed down an embankment after hitting a tractor-trailer that was sitting on the side of the interstate, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 1:45 a.m. Friday near mile-marker 75.

The ramp from Highway 9 to Interstate 85 northbound was closed more than 12 hours. It reopened at about 3:30 p.m.

The Boiling Springs Fire Department used machinery to get the truck out.

The South Carolina Department of Environmental Control was on the scene to clean up oil that spilled from one of the trucks.

Firefighters said the driver of the FedEx truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

They said the driver and a passenger in the tractor-trailer were not injured.
