Springfield ,OH :Two people killed and another two injured in single-vehicle crash along Columbus Road and driver flee on Tuesday ,April 7th 2015

The Ohio Highway Patrol Springfield Post released more details about the investigation into the crash.
The two who died have been identified 18-year-old Tristin K. Sherman, a senior at Springfield High School, and 21-year-old Juan S. Compton. Sherman was sitting in the middle rear seat and Compton was sitting in the rear seat behind the passenger, according to the release.
Other occupants who were injured were 18-year-old Ashley N. Predmore, who was treated for minor injuries at Springfield Regional Medical Center, and 19-year-old Devin B. Moore, who was treated at Miami Valley Hospital for serious injuries.
Predmore was the front seat passenger and Moore was sitting in the rear seat behind the driver.
The driver fled the scene. That person has not been identified or located, according to the release.
The crash on Columbus Avenue near Croft Road in Springfield Twp. was reported at 1:41 a.m.
The 1997 Nissan 4-door went off the right side of the roadway on a curve and struck a utility pole on the driver’s side of the vehicle, according to the release.
Lt. Brian K. Aller, OSP Springfield Post commander, said in a prepared statement: “The gravity of these deaths are aggravated more so by the suspected driver fleeing the scene and thereby failing to take responsibility for the crash.”
A female student at Springfield High School was killed in a double fatal crash early this morning.
The student was a senior at Springfield High, according to Superintendent David Estrop. The other victim was a former Springfield City School District student, he said.
The district’s crisis response team has been sent to the high school to assist students this morning, he said. Counselors will also be available at the middle and elementary schools, where the victim had siblings, according to a statement from the district.
Troopers are still looking for the driver in the single-car crash, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.
The car was traveling west in the 3100 block of Columbus Road when the driver apparently lost control and crashed into a utility pole around 1:45 a.m., according to Sgt. Jason Cadle from the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Five people were inside the vehicle, with two of the passengers pronounced dead at the scene, Cadle said.
Two people also suffered injuries and were transported to the Springfield Regional Hospital for treatment. One of the injured was taken from Springfield Regional Hospital to Miami Valley Hospital, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. CareFlight was originally requested to the scene but was canceled.
The conditions of those injured in the crash are unknown.
Troopers say the driver fled the scene of the crash on foot. The driver has been identified as a man, and a K9 unit was called to the scene to help track him, Cadle said.
If caught, the driver will face felony charges, according to Cadle.
Troopers believe some of the passengers might have been wearing seat belts, but one passenger killed was ejected from the car in the crash.
