SPRING HILL, FL : Boy, 7, seriously hurt in Spring Hill collision on Mariner Boulevard near the intersection of Chalmer Street on Tuesday, 31st December, 2019

A 7-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was struck by a car Tuesday evening while crossing busy Mariner Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident took place at about 7 p.m. on Mariner Boulevard near the intersection of Chalmer Street, troopers said.

Jonathan Nunes, age 7, was either walking or using a tricycle to get across Mariner Boulevard, according to the Highway Patrol. Then the 7-year-old somehow entered into the path of a 1997 Honda Civic head south on Mariner, trooper said.
