Hazleton, PA : 2-car downtown crash injures one on Wednesday, 19th October 2016

One man was taken for medical treatment after a two-car crash in Hazleton on Wednesday morning sent both vehicles off the road, over a sidewalk and into downtown landscaping.

Police said a Jeep Cherokee was traveling west on West Green Street and failed to stop for a white Nissan van that was heading northbound on North Laurel Street when the crash happened at the intersection around 11:15 a.m. Both vehicles came to rest in landscaping at the Center City Medical Complex parking lot by first responders.

The male driver of the van was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

The Jeep sustained front-end damage while the van sustained passenger-side front damage.

Fire police blocked Green Street at Manhattan Court and Laurel Street at Spruce Alley.

Hazleton Fire Department also responded.
