Phoenix, AZ : Motorcyclist critically injured in Loop 101 crash at Seventh Street in Phoenix on Wednesday, March 29th 2017

A motorcyclist was critically injured in an accident that shut down the eastbound lanes of Loop 101 in north Phoenix Wednesday night, authorities said.

The collision happened shortly after 8 p.m. on eastbound Loop 101 at Seventh Street. A motorcycle was reported to have rear-ended a car, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The eastbound on-ramps and lanes were reopened by 11:30 p.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Troopers were still investigating, according to Trooper Kameron Lee, a DPS public information officer.
