A Plymouth man died from injuries he sustained during a two-car collision along U.S. 31 Saturday morning.
Robert Lant, 67, was treated at the accident scene at 14 C Road and was then transported to Memorial Hospital, where he later died, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department.
The driver of the other vehicle, Matthew Bera, 43, of Alabama, Bera's wife Terrie, and three children who were in Bera's vehicle, complained of pain after the collision. All five were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for treatment. A condition update on Bera and his passengers was not available.
According to police, the crash occurred at about 8:35 a.m. Bera's vehicle was southbound on U.S. 31 and Lant failed to yield right-of-way when entering into the traffic lane from the crossover. Lant reportedly pulled his vehicle into Bera's path, and Bera was unable to avoid hitting Lant.
