A 23-year-old Menomonee Falls man was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash police said was caused partly by snowy road conditions.

It was Washington County's third traffic death in one day.

The man was driving south on County Highway K, leaving Hartford around 1:30 p.m. He lost control while making his way around a curve and veered into oncoming traffic. His car was struck on the passenger's side by a car heading north.

Rescue crews found the man was killed in the crash while the operator of the other car, a 71-year-old Hartford woman, had been injured, but not seriously.
