Lafayette, IN : No serious injuries in 4-car crash on Indiana 38 near Harding Road on Thursday afternoon, July 28, 2016
Only minor injuries were reported in a four-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on Indiana 38 near Harding Road east of Lafayette, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
Julian D. White, 26, of Kokomo, turned from Harding Road onto Indiana 38 about 4:15 p.m., but he turned his Dodge Charger into the path of a westbound pickup truck driven by Chad Reeder, 35, of Mulberry, who couldn't avoid hitting the back of White's car, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
The impact sent Reeder's truck into the eastbound lanes, where he struck a car driven by Breanna Poe, 21, of Frankfort, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
That impact knocked tools out of back of Reeder's truck, spilling them onto the state highway where they damaged a Jeep driven by Jared Longenberger, 19, of Frankfort, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
White and his passenger, Antiwan Jackson, of Kokomo, refused medical treatment at the scene, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
Poe and her passenger, 18-month-old Makhyla Prater, were given a ride to a hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries, according to Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
Police closed Indiana 38 for about an hour to allow officers to investigate the crash.
