CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO : 2 crashes on I-55 disrupt evening commute on Tuesday, 14th May 2024

Two separate crashes on Interstate 55 slowed the evening commute in Cape Girardeau on Tuesday, May 14.

According to Cape Girardeau Police, the first crash was reported at 4:15 p.m. at the 92-mile marker on I-55 south. Traffic was backed up for about an hour.

A member of your First Alert News team was stuck in traffic at the scene. She said the crash appeared to have happened near the median.

The second crash happened at 6:30 p.m. at the 93-mile marker.
