Franktown, CO : Parker couple killed, Colorado Springs man injured in Highway 83 crash on Saturday, February 27, 2016

A couple from Parker died and a Colorado Springs man was hurt when a car crossed the median Highway 83 south of Franktown and struck two motorcycles Saturday.

The driver of the car, 27-year-old Athina Munoz of Parker, was jailed on investigation of drunken driving and vehicular homicide in the 1:30 p.m. wreck, the Colorado State Patrol said. Troopers say Munoz was driving south on the highway when she crossed into the northbound lane, hitting the motorcycles.


Brian Lehner, 58, and his passenger, Jaquie Lehner, 56, were thrown from their motorcycle and died, troopers said. A second motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Joseph Bartoletti was hit.

Troopers say Bartoletti is recovering from minor injuries.

Munuz was held at the Douglas County jail Sunday in lieu of $50,000 bail, records show.
