Gainesville, FL : A Jennings man was killed and a woman critically injured in Lake City on Tuesday, August 1, 2017

A Jennings man was killed and a woman critically injured Tuesday in Lake City when they pulled in front of an approaching pickup truck and collided, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

William A. Rudd, 69, died in the crash. Virginia Rudd, 66, was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital.

The incident occurred on U.S. 90 east of Faith Road about 11:30 a.m. Rudd was driving a 2015 Nissan Rogue, exiting a parking lot onto U.S. 90.

Rudd pulled in front of a 2006 Ford F250 pickup truck driven by Joel R. Phinney, 39, of Lake City. After the collision with Rudd, Phinney hit a pop-up camper trailer that was being pulled on U.S. 90 by Robert Rosbury, 63, of Fort Pierce.

Neither Phinney nor Rosbury were injured.
