GEORGETOWN TWP, MI : 2 Ottawa Area Center students injured in school bus crash on Tuesday 13th November 2018

Two students from the Ottawa Area Center were injured when the school bus they were riding in crashed into a car and a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon.Police said the Dean Transportation school bus was transporting three students from the center’s young adults services program at the time. The bus, being driven by Kathy Wabeke, 60, of Holland, was turning south onto Eighth Avenue from 44th Street in Georgetown Township at 3:46 p.m.

The bus turned in front of a 2013 Ford F150 pickup truck, which was eastbound on 44th, said Sgt. Brian Buter of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The bus and pickup then collided with a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that was stopped at the red light on Eighth, waiting to turn west onto 44th.

Neither Wabeke or the other two drivers, a Byron Center and a Hudsonville man, were injured in the crash, Buter said.
