Torrance, CA : 2 men killed in one-vehicle crash in Gardena on Tuesday, December, 26th 2017
Two Los Angeles men were killed when their car struck a curb and slammed into a building in Gardena, police said Tuesday.
The driver, Willis Herman Grant, 31, and his passenger, Damon Scott Lang, 29, died following the Sunday morning crash at El Segundo Boulevard and Raymond Avenue, Gardena police Lt. Mike Saffell said.
Grant apparently was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu east on El Segundo when he struck the south curb at about 4 a.m. The car veered across the street and struck a building on the northwest corner.
Grant was pronounced dead at the scene. Lang was taken to Memorial Hospital of Gardena, where he died.
No other vehicles were involved.
Detectives are awaiting an autopsy to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
