THOMAS COUNTY, KS : 16-year-old Kansas boy killed, another seriously injured in crash near Colby on Sunday, 20th October 2024

One teenager has died and another was seriously injured on Sunday morning in a crash northeast of Colby.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened in the 2700 block of County Road U, about 12 miles northeast of Colby, at approximately 8:45 a.m.

The KHP says a 2003 Ford F-150 was eastbound on County Road U when it made an unstable movement before trying to overcorrect. The truck entered the south ditch, continued to travel into a cornfield toward the northeast. The vehicle overturned an unknown amount of times and came to rest on its wheels facing northwest.
