Driver arrest for drunken driving after teen died in crash
A driver has been arrested for drunken driving after an 18-year-old man died and three other passengers were injured in an accident Saturday night in northwest Harris County.
Colby Reece Fitzgerald was killed in the accident in the 6900 block of East FM 1960 riding the front passenger seat of a Toyota Camry driven by a 21-year-old woman. Two others were in the backseat.
Around 2 a.m., a black Ford truck driven by an 18-year-old man with three passengers changed lanes to the left and struck the Toyota, which was also changing lanes. Three others were also riding in the truck.
The front right side of the truck struck the left side of the Toyota car. Fitzgerald was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver and backseat passenger of the Toyota were taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital with serious injuries. The other backseat passenger was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital with serious injuries. None of the Ford truck passengers were
injured.
The driver of Ford truck, who has not yet been identified, was found to be an intoxicated driver and arrested for driving while intoxicated.
