Oakland police identified the 25-year-old man killed when he ran into the back of a tractor trailer early Saturday morning.

Police say Gregory Jefferson Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened about 1:40 a.m. Saturday on westbound State Road 50 just west of the Florida's Turnpike entrance, Oakland police Lt. John Peek said. No one else was injured.

Peek said the tractor-trailer was slowing down for a stop light.
