Seattle, WA : Driver runs away after crash, leaves injured passenger behind on Friday afternoon, July 11, 2014
A Friday afternoon car crash in Seattle's Rainier Valley neighborhood left one man seriously injured.
Police say two men were driving northbound in the 7200 block of Rainier Avenue South at about 3:15 p.m. when the driver tried to pass a Metro bus, lost control and hit a fence and then a tree.
The car rolled and ended up on its side, according to police.
The driver of the totaled car got out and ran away before police arrived on scene. The passenger suffered severe facial injuries and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
A woman who was hit by debris from the fence was also taken to Harborview. Her condition is not known.
