A car crashed into a utility pole and took out power to a school zone light Friday afternoon, shutting down Northgate Dr. in Bossier City.
It happened just after 4 p.m.
Northgate Dr. was closed from June Lane to Old Minden Rd., but has since reopened.
Bossier City police say according to witnesses, the crash occurred when the driver of a Chrysler 200 heading northbound on Northgate Dr. at a high rate of speed lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the pole at the intersection of Horseshoe Trail.
The driver was not injured. He has been placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
