Authorities are investigating after two people were killed when their car smashed into a tree on Hilton Head Island.
The Beaufort County coroner tells local media outlets that the accident happened about 7:30 a.m. Monday on the resort island.
The victims were identified as 24-year-old Herbert Miller and 22-year-old Markell Orr, both of Hilton Head Island.
Authorities say that neither was wearing a seat belt.
