AUSTELL, GA : Man hit by vehicle killed at Cobb County intersection on Wednesday, 26th July 2023

Roads were shut down to traffic overnight in Cobb County after a man was struck by a vehicle and killed.

It happened around 11:25 p.m. Wednesday night on Cityview Drive just east of the intersection with Golden Pine Road in Austell.

Investigators with the Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) unit say 61-year-old Troy Bracy, of Atlanta, was walking in the roadway in the eastbound lane of Cityview Drive when an 18-year-old male driving east on Cityview Drive in a black GMC Sierra struck Bracy.

Officials say Bracy died at the scene. The driver was not injured.
