Milwaukee, WI : Three teens arrested after crashing stolen truck near 89th and Chambers streets on Sunday afternoon, June 12, 2016

Three Milwaukee teens were arrested Sunday afternoon after firing at an off-duty police officer from a stolen truck and causing a crash, police said.

The teens are ages 15, 16 and 17.

An off-duty officer first spotted the stolen vehicle, a Ford F-150, near 89th and Chambers streets around 12:30 a.m. One of the teens fired at the officer, but did not hit him.

Milwaukee police officers saw the truck again around 1:20 p.m. near Sherman Boulevard and Hampton Avenue. The driver of the truck drove away.

Officers were able to catch up with the truck near 37th Street and Villard Avenue when the vehicle's driver went through a red light and struck two moving cars. The truck finally stopped after hitting two parked cars.

The teens tried running from the Ford. An officer fired at one teen who he believed was armed. No one was hit. Police arrested the trio a short time later.

Officers found two handguns in the stolen truck.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
