Denver, CO : Man killed hit by tractor-trailer on US Highway 36 in Westminster on Friday morning October 2 2015

Authorities say a man was killed when he was hit by a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 36 in Westminster.
Police investigator Kate Kazell tells The Denver Post the man, whose name and age have not been released, left his car before he was hit Friday morning. He died at the scene.
The truck driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
It's unclear why the man who was hit left his car.
