Wilkes Barre, PA : One person has died after a crash on South Main Street on April, Saturday 15th 2017

One person has died after a crash on South Main Street in Hanover Twp. on Saturday night.

Luzerne County Deputy Coroner Dan Hughes confirmed one of the four occupants of the vehicle that crashed around 11 p.m. Saturday later died at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Twp. Hughes could not release the victim’s name before notifying family members.

Township police are investigating the crash that occurred on South Main Street near Strand Street in the Lee Park section of town. Police said the vehicle was traveling south with four occupants and crossed into the northbound lane and struck a utility pole.

The car stopped in an open field and all of the occupants were taken by ambulance to hospitals, police said in a release.
