Seattle, WA : One killed in head-on collision in Auburn Thursday night, July 21, 2016

One person died in a head-on, two-car collision in Auburn Thursday night, fire officials said.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 7:20 p.m. on East Valley Highway just north of Lake Tapps Parkway East, according to Valley Regional Fire Authority.

Firefighters arrived to find bystanders performing CPR on one of the vehicle’s occupants.

The occupant died at the scene. A person in the other vehicle — it’s unclear if it was the driver — suffered neck and back injuries and was taken to Valley Medical Center, fire officials said. No other details were available.

Auburn police are investigating.
