Pescadero, CA : One person died and another seriously injured in a crash on Highway 1 on Wednesday night, Oct 28, 2015

One person was killed and a second was seriously injured in a crash Wednesday night along Highway 1, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported just before 7 p.m. at Highway 1 and Bean Hollow Road after a four-door vehicle crashed into a tree, according to the CHP. The tree caught on fire, and the crash closed the highway in both directions.

One person was declared dead on scene, and a second person was flown to an area hospital with major injuries.
