SACRAMENTO, CA : 1 dead, 1 hurt in collision on Fruitridge Road in south Sacramento on Tuesday, 9th April 2024

An investigation is underway along a major south Sacramento road after a vehicle collision that left one person dead Tuesday morning.

Sacramento police say officers responded to the scene along Fruitridge Road, near Ethel Way, just after 4:30 a.m. and found that two pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle.

One of those pedestrians, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics, police say.

The other pedestrian, a woman, suffered significant injuries.
