Oklahoma City ,OK : Deadly crash involving pedestrian on I-44 was a hit and run on Tuesday July 21st 2015

One person is dead in a crash on Interstate 44 involving a pedestrian.

Police said the car that hit the female pedestrian fled from the scene. The crash was in westbound lanes of I-44 at NW 10th near the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. Authorities said the woman was not in a vehicle at the time of the crash, but it was unclear why.

Traffic is very slow in the area of the crash, and law enforcement ask that motorists avoid it if possible during the morning commute.
