Multiple car accident on westbound Interstate 10

Rural Metro Fire responded to a multiple car accident on westbound Interstate 10, near Alvernon Road Tuesday night.

Ten cars were involved, one person reportedly had minor injuries and was transported by an ambulance, according to captain Grant Cesarek.

All drivers had airbags and were wearing their seatbelts, Grant said.Drivers should avoid the area and merge slowly, away from emergency vehicles. The far right lane of Interstate 10 remained open through the accident.
