South Dallas, TX : Driver charged with manslaughter in South Dallas crash that killed woman riding rental bike on Sunday, 19th August 2018

A woman riding a rental bike in South Dallas was killed in a crash with a suspected drunken driver early Sunday, police said.
The driver, identified by police as 22-year-old Jacob Albiar, was traveling fast eastbound in the 1100 block of South Riverfront Boulevard, east of Interstate 35E, about midnight when the car went onto the shoulder around a curve, striking a 47-year-old woman.
The car hit a planter box in front of a vacant business on the south side of the street and Albiar fled on foot, police said. A Dallas County sheriff's deputy saw the crash scene and stopped to help detain him at a nearby bar, police said.
