Norwood, OH : Woman ejected in Thursday morning crash on I-71 NB at Smith-Edwards exit, December 4, 2014

Northbound Interstate 71 was shut down for several hours Thursday at the Smith Edwards Road exit due to a serious injury crash. A semi and a sedan were involved in an accident just before 8:30 a.m., Norwood police said. According to Norwood police, a woman was driving the sedan heading north on I-71 and made an improper lane change going from the middle to the right and crashed into the front of the semi. Police say the woman from the sedan wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected out the passenger window. She was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she was treated and released for minor injuries, police said. The semi driver was not injured. Norwood police say the accident team is reconstructing the accident and the woman is likely to face charges. The interstate reopened around noon.
