Brookland ,AR : One person injured after two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon , June 10th 2015

One person received minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon in Brookland.

Police say a red pickup truck was stalled in the right northbound lane of Highway 49 where it intersects with School Street when it was struck in the rear by a Buick SUV.

The driver of the Buick was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Brookland police say the owner of the truck, who was out of the vehicle at the time of the accident, had reported it and officers were en route to the scene when the crash happened.

Brookland Police Officer Zachary Purrington cautioned other drivers about what to do when they're having car troubles.

"If you notice your vehicle is beginning to stall out or act funny, activate your hazard lights and immediately pull off as much outside the lane and to the right that you can," Purrington said. "And then call for any assistance or help you may need."

No word on whether either driver will be cited.
