DEERFIELD, IL : 3 sent to hospital following accident on Greenfield Road on Monday, 25th November, 2019
Three people were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries following a three-SUV crash on Greenfield Road on Monday morning, according to the Deerfield Police Department’s Facebook page.
Deerfield Police, the South Deerfield Fire Department and South County EMS responded to a two-car crash shortly after 9:30 a.m. Witnesses said the operator of a northbound Mercury SUV may have had a medical issue and crashed into a Nissan SUV and then a Volvo SUV.
The driver of the Mercury was flown by LIFE STAR helicopter to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, as was the Nissan’s passenger. The Nissan’s driver was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. The Volvo’s driver was uninjured, according to the Facebook post. Northampton Fire Rescue provided a mutual aid ambulance.
According to the Facebook post, Deerfield Police Sgt. Harry Ruddock III is investigating the crash’s cause.
