Brown Township, OH : Columbus man killed in Delaware County crash early Wednesday, December 14, 2016

A Columbus man was killed and two other men were injured early Wednesday in a crash in Delaware County, the State Highway Patrol said.

Charles R. Whipkey, 37, was a passenger in an Audi that crashed around 2:30 a.m. on Route 42 in Brown Township just north of Delaware. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scott M. Wilson was driving the Audi north on Route 42 when the car went off the road at a curve and hit a traffic sign, a tree and a fence, the patrol said.

Wilson, 37, and a second passenger, Joshua D. Blevins, 36, both of Delaware, were flown to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center with critical injuries, the patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation.
