According to our sister station WTHR, a car hit a utility pole in Hendricks County around 11:50 p.m. Monday. The crash caused the pole to shatter and left electrical wires hanging low.
Hendricks County Deputy Fred Fislar arrived at the scene just before midnight and came into contact with those wires. Minutes later, a witness who was driving by reportedly used Fislar’s radio to contact the Hendricks County Communications Center to tell them that an officer was down.
