A man riding a motorized bicycle through New Smyrna Beach was fatally struck overnight in a hit-and-run crash, according to police.
The crash occurred between 8:15 p.m. Wednesday and 6:50 a.m. Thursday in the 3400 block of State Road 44, police said in a statement.
According to a news release from the New Smyrna Beach Police Department, the victim — a 39-year-old man — was found unresponsive in a ditch and was pronounced dead at the scene.
