Pensacola, FL : Motorcyclist dies after striking utility pole on Friday morning, March 3, 2017

A motorcyclist died in the early hours of Friday morning after striking a utility pole.

Christopher Daniel Brienza, 22, was driving south on Dog Track Road around 6:30 a.m. when he passed a slower vehicle around a left curve in the road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. He lost control of his motorcycle as he was coming back into the southbound lane and overturned when he tried to brake.

The motorcycle then hit a utility pole guy wire before coming to a final rest on its right side. Brienza was thrown onto the roadway and was pronounced dead.
