Hebron, KY : Four people injured in a four-car crash on Kentucky 237 at Wright Boulevard early Wednesday, January 27, 2016
A driver traveling southbound in a northbound lane of Kentucky 237 caused a four-car crash early Wednesday that resulted in life-threatening injuries for a driver involved.
Four people were hospitalized when the 2007 Honda Civic driven on the wrong side of the roadway by 22-year-old Danielle Honshell, of Burlington, Kentucky, struck two oncoming vehicles, according to a release from the Boone County Sheriff's Office.
The crash on Kentucky 237 at Wright Boulevard in Hebron occurred about 5:20 a.m.
Honshell was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. An update on her condition wasn't provided at 11 a.m.
Honshell's Civic first side-swiped a 2010 Jeep driven by 62-year-old Rukia Ali, of Florence, Kentucky. Ali, who was traveling on the correct side of the road, was hospitalized after complaining of neck and back pain, police stated in the release from the sheriff's office.
Debris from the crash landed on the windshield of a 2012 Honda CR-V, injuring 75-year-old Lee Hollon, police said. Hollon was hospitalized with injuries from glass particles, police said.
Honshell's Civic then traveled an additional 150 yards and collided with a 2003 Ford pickup driven by a still-unidentified driver.
The pickup caught fire, and Honshell's Civic spun off the road. Both drivers were trapped and eventually removed from their respective vehicles.
The other driver, Michael Ruckett, 65, of Union, Kentucky, was provided ground transport to UCMC with injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
