Tuscaloosa,AL : Driver sought after fatal hit-and-run on June, Wednesday 21th 2017

Authorities are searching for the driver who struck and killed a man on Interstate 20/59 Wednesday.

Darrell James Pettie, 54, was involved in a crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 20/59 at 2:35 p.m. He stepped outside of his vehicle and was struck by a passing 2005 Dodge 1500, said Alabama State Troopers Senior Trooper Reginal King.

“The driver of the Dodge left the scene of the crash on foot before a positive identification could be obtained,” King said.

Pettie was pronounced dead at the scene.
