Ludington, MI : Two adults killed, one child injured after semitrailer hits car on Michigan highway on Thursday, July 31, 2014

Mason County authorities say two people have died and another is injured after a semitrailer crashed into a car.

Sheriff Kim Cole says a semitrailer struck a car making a U-turn Thursday on Pere Marquette Highway. He says the 19-year-old female car driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old man and a girl around age 10 were passengers in the car. The sheriff says the male passenger died at a local hospital.

He says the girl was taken to DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. Her condition is unknown.

The semitrailer driver from Mason County was uninjured.

Authorities are withholding the victims' identities until their families could be notified.
