Police say 20-year-old Alexander Jackson Jr. was driving in a car with his three siblings at a high rate of speed Wednesday afternoon in Ellendale when he lost control, causing the car to enter opposite lanes of traffic. When Jackson swerved to avoid an oncoming car, he hit a ditch and the car went airborne. It then landed and flipped violently into pine trees.
Ten-year-old Christina Stevens, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
