Topeka, KS : 28-year-old woman from Coffeyville was killed in a head-on collision on Thursday, October, 12th 2017

A 28-year-old woman from Coffeyville was killed in a head-on collision with a semi truck Thursday morning in Allen County.

The crash was reported shortly after 9 a.m., about 4 miles south of Iola.

Lisa M. Strickland was driving a 2007 Chevy Uplander northbound on US-169 highway when she crossed the center line, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol’s crash log.

Andrew J. Robinson, 38, of St. Marys, was driving the semi southbound. He attempted to move to the shoulder to avoid the collision, but the Chevy continued across the lane and struck the semi. Robinson wasn’t injured.

Both Robinson and Strickland were wearing seat belts, the log indicated.
