Tucson, AZ : Man died after hit by a car near Pantano Road and 5th Street on Sunday, Nov 15, 2015

Tucson police say a man has died after he was hit by a car.

Police spokeswoman Kimberly Bay says the fatal collision happened around 6 a.m. Sunday near Pantano Road and 5th Street.

According to detectives, a Chrysler PT Cruiser was approaching a green light when it hit a man crossing the street. It is not known if the 59-year-old pedestrian was in a crosswalk.

Bay says firefighters administered aid but the man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

His identity is not being released pending notification of family.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and stayed at the scene.

Neither speed nor alcohol appears to be a factor.
