The death of a man who was hit by a car as he stepped into on-coming traffic has been ruled an accident.

The Clark County Coroner's office said 26-year-old Sammy Rey Robledo of Las Vegas died Saturday of multiple blunt injuries in the accidental crash.

Metro Police said the man was attempting to cross South Boulder Highway at the Tropicana Avenue intersection about 11:45 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a 2014 Fiat 500L.

The 35-year-old Las Vegas driver stayed at the scene and a witness told police that the car had the green light when Robledo stepped into its path.

Robledo was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital.

Police said this is the 78th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas area this year.
