Two people were injured in a wreck on U.S. 74 in Shelby near the Strawberry Patch Hair Salon.

Westbound traffic was rerouted to the nearby service roads around 1 p.m. Tuesday, after a green Oldsmobile trying to enter U.S. 74 from a service road failed to yield and hit a tan car traveling west. The tan car flipped and the driver was pinned inside.

The driver and the passenger in the tan car were transported to Carolinas HealthCare System Cleveland with injuries. The two people in the Oldsmobile were not injured.

No names have been released.

The driver of the Oldsmobile will be charged with failure to yield, according to a Shelby Police officer at the scene.
