Dickinson, TX : One man died, two injured a multiple-vehicle accident in the 5900 block of East FM 517 on Sunday night, Oct 4, 2015
One man was killed, another was in critical condition and an 8-year-old child was injured during a multiple-vehicle accident Sunday night, police said.
Dickinson police responded to several 911 calls at about a major accident about 8:45 p.m. in the 5900 block of East FM 517.
Officers found a 2014 Hyundai Elantra and a 2001 Ford Focus in the road, according to a news release from the Dickinson Police Department.
Both vehicles had extensive front-end damage, police said.
Dickinson EMS and Dickinson Volunteer Fire Department assisted police in extracting occupants from the vehicles.
The driver of the Ford Focus, Joshua Alan Miller, 24, was pronounced dead after being transported to The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
A 38-year-old Texas City resident who was the driver of the Hyundai was transported to the Galveston hospital by medical helicopter and listed in critical condition Monday, according to the news release.
The 8-year-old passenger in the Hyundai was also transported to the medical branch by ambulance with nonlife threatening injuries.
Police are still investigating the accident. Authorities suspect alcohol may have been a factor, the news release said.
