Point Mugu, CA : One taken to hospital after major-injury crash near Point Mugu on Saturday, October 11, 2014

A major-injury crash was reported Saturday near Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu, authorities said. The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash about 7:35 a.m. on southbound Pacific Coast Highway at Las Posas Road, authorities said. Initial reports indicated a vehicle went into a ditch and a person was still inside it with the seat belt on, officials said. The Ventura County Fire Department responded, with a helicopter requested at the scene. At least one person was taken to a hospital with major injuries, officials said.
