A Norwich man seriously injured in a motorcycle accident has been upgraded to satisfactory condition, a hospital spokesman said Tuesday.
James G. Cushman, 70, was driving a motorcycle on state highway 206 in the town of Walton on Sunday, when he collided with a farm tractor driven by James R. VerNooy, 45, of Walton, according to a media release from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office.
Cushman was taken to Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton before being airlifted to UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for treatment. Cushman had been listed in critical condition on Monday, an official said.
Cushman is a judge in Norwich City Court. Nancy A. Cushman, 67, of Norwich, a passenger on the motorcycle, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, officials said.
