Volusia County, FL : Port Orange man died in Fatal I-95 crash in Volusia County on Friday, August 1, 2014

A Port Orange man died Friday after he lost control of his car on Interstate-95 and struck a disabled vehicle and then hit a concrete overpass, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The victim was driving southbound shortly after 2 p.m. near the Dunn Avenue overpass in Volusia County when his car struck a disabled pickup towing a trailer that was parked about 25 feet off the roadway.

His vehicle then hit a post on the overpass and came to a stop facing north in a drainage ditch. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.

The other motorist was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
