FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, OH : One person was killed and two others were injured on Saturday, June 17, 2017
One person was killed and two others were injured Saturday night on state Route 123.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Corey N. Kappus was headed south at about 9 p.m. when he fell asleep.
Troopers said Kappus' SUV went off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail, went left of center and hit a car head-on.
A front-seat passenger in the car, 20-year-old Courtney P. Trent, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car's driver, 20-year-old James Daley, is hospitalized at Atrium Medical Center.
Kappus was treated at Atrium and released.
Troopers said speed and no seatbelt are considered factors in the crash.
