KOKOMO, IN : Two people were injured following a car crash on Wednesday, June 7, 2017
Two people were injured Wednesday morning – one hospitalized – following a car crash at the Indiana 931 and Indiana 26 intersection.
According to a Kokomo Police Department crash report, Chenelle N. Temple, 38, Sharpsville, was hospitalized due to pain from injuries, and Cora E. Burton, 92, Kempton, reportedly suffered minor bleeding but didn’t require hospitalization.
The crash report states that Junior D. Burton, 94, Kempton, was driving southbound on Indiana 931 and was preparing to turn east on Indiana 26. He had a green arrow, he told police, but it turned into a yellow flashing arrow while he was in mid-turn.
As he continued his turn, reports state that Temple, traveling northbound on Indiana 931, struck Junior Burton’s vehicle, with Cora Burton riding in the front passenger seat. Burton’s vehicle continued on after being hit, and struck a traffic light utility pole sitting in the northeast corner of the intersection.
Two witnesses saw the crash, but neither was in a position to say what color light Junior Burton had at the time of the crash, according to the report.
Total damages were reportedly between $10,001 and $25,000.
